What's Another Cake or Two...

The Sound of Music made Maria Von Trapp looked like a Saint. But I have my theories (so does FBB, go arse him for his!) that she wasn't a goody good two shoes we all think she is. Think about it, how on earth can a few raindrops on roses, whiskers on kitten, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens make a grown up woman with 7 devious kids like her happy. Who's she kidding?

If Maria lived in today's world, I bet you her favourite things would be plump raisins soaked in brandy, cherries & mixed fruits, cake with booze that comes in brown paper packages tied up in strings. Exactly like the Fruitcake Parcel (RM15) found in Delectables by Su at the Gardens shopping mall. All perfectly wrapped by Su herself. And if you have the piece of cake in the morning for breakfast like I did, you'll be flying through the day with a smile permanently plastered on your face. Perhaps a boozy fruitcake was Maria's secret to a great day after all!

 


Dreams are very powerful things depending on how you look at them. On one end of the spectrum, they can be a pleasant lullaby to help you sleep through the night. While on the other hand, dreams can turn into horrible nightmares. Then, there are those that gives you a glimpse of the future. Premonitions they call it. I call them "pizza-deliveries". You hear a pizza commercial just before lunch time, instantly dial your favourite 1-800-number and viola, the pizza arrives. In this case, I woke up craving of a certain nutty banana chocolate cake from my dream the night before. Quickly I tweeted Fatboybakes about it and the cake of my dreams was ready before the weekend arrived. Magic I tell you. The results? DREAMY! So much so, I wet my pants eating it. Hats off to Fatboybakes! If you can dream it, he can bake it. Just don't start asking him for any decorations because that will be his biggest nightmare.
