Fatboybakes Can Teach Too

Last Saturday, Fatboybakes conducted his first ever baking class at The Cooking House in front of a dozen of eager yet demure and well-behaved students. Amongst them was blogger le spunky witch and her friend who was the only other male student there. Oh yeah, the Spice Queen of Singapore and the Queen of DSLR also graced the class with a special appearance. If the passionate chef told you that he was nervous, he was lying. I've never seen him this calm or serious before. Kinda commanding too actually (his old army self coming through?).

Anyway being the fidgety monkey that I am, I took the liberty of using FBB's camera and went shutter happy with it. He was too in-the-zone to realise it, but I do hope he doesn't mind.

Not only can FBB bake wonderful cakes, but he can also hold a down-to-earth, fun and entertaining class. Laughter were aplenty that morning. I'm sure he has also gained a few new fans when he generously shared his recipes and baking knowledge. As of press time, there are already a few inquiries for his next class. Now, that's having your cake and eating it too. We're proud of ya. Kudos Fatboybakes!

    It was truly a fun-filled class with classic moments in abundance:

    "Look at your gelatine. Once it bubbles, you can take it out. Eek! This microwave got no light one! How to see!"

    Truly, the faces say it all. I read your hilarious post once, then a second time just looking at your pics, esp the expressions on their faces. Much learning was had, but we can tell much fun also.

    Wish the Devil and I were there. Darn our monthly trips to JB. When's the next class? :D

    wah, are those cakes and tart all whipped up by fbb or by the students? if u guys were the ones who made them (particularly the molten cake), then i'm really impressed by fbb's teaching skills! :D

    LFB: It was Fun alright, as much as Ah Pa tried keeping a straight face - guess he couldn't contain that middle finger. LOL

    Sean and PureGlutton: It was a workshop sorta setting. We were his lil elves and he magically shove the trays in the oven. Come to think of it, that's all he did the whole class.

    Ah Pa: No sarcasm? That's hard to believe coming for ya. Since all I did was played with your camera on that day, I'll be calling you for a refresher when I need to bake.
