So, to spice things up this morning, I've decided to give my taste buds a little jolt and make this mundane morning a little more interesting. I know what you're thinking, "Why do you sound so grumpy and whiny on a Saturday morning?". Well honey, you wouldn't be looking forward to the day too if you've gotta work 10-full-hours on a freaking weekend at the pasar borong facing a bunch of loonies (who not only has the ability to loose their mind over crazy discounts but also their humility and humanity as well). And on top of that, I'll be missing out on a fab lunch. Nuff said.
However, I'm not about to let all that get to me. I'm gonna try to take an optimistic happy pill and pump myself up with a good breakfast consisting of some leftovers from dinner 2-nights ago. Yes, yes I wasn't too shy to pack a slice or two home. FBB and Nigel&Allan, ”Nandri.” *wiggle*
So what if I've had desserts for breakfast? To each his own, right? I dunno about you, but I'm feeling awesome right now. Say, doesn't your bowl of muesli look miserable in comparison? *snigger*
Now, I'm ready for the crazies. Bring em' on! Toodle-loo.
Early Morning Shoutouts:
1. Nigella's Chocolate Brownie (or was it?) by Fatboybakes. Click here to join his still growing Fan Club on Facebook now.
2. The very buttery Butterscotch Walnut Pie by none other than Just Heavenly. The pie is part of their Shortcrust series classes.
3. For alternative breakfast posts of the healthier kind, read CumidanCiki, Kampungkayell or Lots of Cravings instead.
4. Check out my BFF's brand new attempt on a comic, which could possibly give yours truly a run for my bananas! Dammit, why am I even promoting it anyway?
Desserts for breakfast? Why, why didn't I think of that first?
ReplyDeleteAs it is, all I had for breakfast was one round of BodyBalance workout and one Milo tarik and now waiting for the Devil Prada to wake up so we can drive over to your pasar borong and say HI! to our fav qwazymonkey! :D
Well, I don't have strict rules when come to breakfast... in fact, I just had bah chang earlier this morning :) imagine those glutonious rice, salted egg yolk, few pieces of sinful pork meat, mushroom all wrapped in 2/3 pieces of leaves... and I'm still feeling great!!!
ReplyDeleteharrro :-) Thanks so much for VIP card. It felt good to be walking past the plebs ;-) hahahahaha
ReplyDeleteAs for dessert for brekkie, am glad you enjoyed it babe. You look so cute in the morning ;-) Grumpy or not!

ReplyDeleteLFB: Thanks for your support. So, what was the damage at my Borong?
ReplyDeleteThule: I like your breakfast too. Next weekend maybe I'll have a Bak Chang myself. The brown Hokkien version for me please!
Nigel: It was good seeing you guys in the morning too. Definitely perked up the energy level. God knows how bored I was :) And thanks for the brekkie supply, it helped out so much in keeping me smiling all day long.
Chaokar: Well I'm not called A Lil' Fat Monkey for nutting u know!
NomadGourmand: Me too. Always have an extra stomach for some
J2KFM: actually hor, it had the opposite effect on me. I was extremely perky after breakfast. LOL. Yeah poor souls like me gotta borong for a living.
Joe: Dude, sorry that it was a brief "hullo, enjoy yourself" conversation. It just wasn't the place to be getting to know another flogger. But I'm glad our orange plastic bag kept you company throughout the borong experience. For what it's worth, it was nice meeting you. :)
Unkaleong: Yea man, wouldn't settle for anything less than the best. Compliments to the bakers!
LL: BFF! Ur comics cool. Comics can be therapeutic fun. Yes, please bat your purty Shu Uemura lashes at me!
yeah, i oso nvr liked muesli etc etc. but unlike you, i prefer salty, salty stuff for breakfast. like ckt, bkt, hokkien mee. haha! but of course, who can resist Fatboybakes and Just Heavenly's cakes aka desserts aka breakfast aka mains. ;D

ReplyDeleteNic: Well I do like my savories too - BIG GREASY BREAKFAST filled with bacon, sausages, eggs and the lots. Not quite a big fan of noodles for breakfast. Dunno why. Roti Canai = yes, yes, yes!
ReplyDeleteC&C: Actuarry I heard you sing before. So I can imagine. LOL. :P See ya later today
FBB: Ah Pa, you didn't leave a comment lah. For a while I was wondering the why. I thought you were mad at me cos I didn't showed up for your fabulous brunch. Hehe
