Get Munkey a DSLR Fund: Now Accepting Contributions

I am no jet-setting munkey. I've not been to the captivating mountain crevasse of Norway. I've got no prior glacier experiences. Heck, I've not even tasted a Viking dish before, let alone an elaborated Norwegian Seafood Feast. Such is life of a true peasant. Food blogs are dangerous places, they just suck you in for hours and leave you wanting more. Cis!

WANTS, they say, are terrible things. Especially when you want things beyond your reach. While having dreams can be good, it makes us strive and work hard for something. However, dreaming too big can also be disheartening when you are just unable to reach for any of them. And, this monkey is definitely no stranger to feeling all beaten down. Guess my heart and my bank account just need to sort out their issues and see eye-to-eye. I am, after all, living in a materiel world. And I'm a material munkey!

It wasn't until yesterday's lunch at Rice Cafe that I realised I have not been working hard enough to get that Canon EOS 500D I've been wanting. It became clear to me that owning a camera is not as impossible as reaching for the skies at Lysefjord (should I be wanting something I can't even pronounce?). So, instead of continuing to stay good for the rest of the year and wait for Santa to put the camera under my tree, I came up with a plan:

1. Set up the GET MUNKEY A DSLR FUND.
2. Published it here on my blog
3. Wait for contributions from all my friends. (I've calculated, if everyone on my Facebook friends list contributed RM5.00 each, I can totally get the camera before this weekend)

Hang on, there's something missing here. It can't be as easy as this. I know, you'll WANT something from me in return. Right? See, I knew WANTS are horrible things! Let's get back to the plan...

4. I'm just going to put this out there and see where it takes me... Whore myself out!


Get your minds out of the gutter, people! Munkey's ass is not up for sale anytime soon. I was just referring to whoring out my other talent. I can be a Designer-for-Hire. You can have a logo/business card/stationary designed by yours truly and I get to make some money. Easy peasy! After all, I do come with highly recommended (call Fatboybakes or Lyrical Lemongrass for a referral if you really have to). Oooh, and to get the ball rolling I just confirmed a client yesterday.

Watch this space, soon I'll be starting Get Munkey a Holiday Fund, Get Munkey a Beemer Fund, Get Munkey Santorini Fund etc.

So, anybody needs a designer?

    aiyah, no need so susah la. get a 0% interest credit card instalment plan la. that's how i could afford my dslr. some can go up to 2 years! definitely an option that u can consider.
